Lynne Vermeulen
Lynne Vermeulen (°1997, Bruges) is an illustrator and visual artist with a fondness for slow, analog techniques. With her work, she tries to express and understand human relationships by capturing them in an image. Scenes that fascinate her, emotions and moments that stick: they take shape in often naked figures with limbs that seem fluid because of their grotesque proportions. Lynne takes her time and tries to stretch the boundaries of what is considered the norm, hoping to convince people that not everything has to be ephemeral.
Timothy Verlinde
Timothy is an independent artist from Bruges whose main focus lies on printmaking. He’s been making prints for the past 12 years. His work consists mainly of large scale woodcuts with topics such as ancient tribes, mysterious landscapes and the obscure. Although he tries not to focus on one medium in particular and can also find himself in monotypes or drypoint etchings, as these techniques feed on one another. When he’s stuck on one he tends to jump to another as this is a huge boost for his creative workflow and thinking.
Chiara Labbadia
Chiara was born in Blankenberge in 1988 and is a Bruges based artist. Always being full of energy, her life rarely sees a dull moment. Which gives her all sorts of topics, subjects and situations to get inspiration from. As her life’s full of change and new experiences, she often feels restless. Her art has a therapeutic value to her and through various techniques she plays with colour and form to intuitively create beautiful art. She’s a knack for detail and , to put it in her own words, aesthetics could never bore her.
“I use painting in search for the multiple layers of my own personality. Every artwork starts with a colour palette that reflects my thoughts, feelings and dreams.”
Mesca
With a background in graphic design and a lifelong passion for art, street art in particular, Sander emerged in the Bruges scene at an early age. Being inspired by architecture, design, photography and graffiti, his style is very recognisable. Even though his work has taken many shapes throughout the years. Always trying to create the undefined, the impossible with spray paint.
Rodrigo Fraga
Rodrigo is a young artist from Bruges, his focus is mainly on creating MixedMedia work and installations. He searches for serenity in thoughts and visual language.
An image is created by using different media, each layer is a trace that is intuitively added to the image. The experiment and harsh contrasts in composition are often central to his work. His installations always try to convey a certain sense of familiar uneasiness to the viewer.
The installations become a total experience by combining it with true soundscapes.
Esther Cornelis
Esther Cornelis is an artist from Bruges, Belgium. By portraying the people surrounding her daily life, she emphasises the beauty in the mundane. The figures in her paintings often show the roughness of life, the beauty in the ugly and the dark. One could say this is a typical West-Flemish way of being. Her style is characterised by a distinctive communication between different colours allowing her to capture a moment in time, by melting several movements into one frame.
