Théo Collie
As an Illustrator Théo focuses on reconstructing old photos by painting on them. This changes the context of the original photo and creates a new one. His most recurring theme is one of masks and costumes from old folkloric cultures as found in Asia, Latin America and Europe. His endeavors in animation filmmaking have taught him to refine his fantasy world, transform characters and link them to atypical artifacts. Théo works from his studio at ‘De Tank’, Bruges, an initiative to support young local artists.
